About the Leveling the Playing Field

Leveling the Playing Field redistributes free sports equipment to kids from under-resourced communities across the country, ensuring they can access the mental and physical benefits of youth sports.

Research shows that participating in sports can improve social-emotional development, improve grades, and even lower rates of crime and drug use. However, the cost of sports equipment is one of the most commonly cited barriers to participation in youth sports among low-income families. That's where we come in!

In 2013 Leveling the Playing Field (LPF) opened its first warehouse in the DMV area with a mission to provide free sports equipment to under-resourced communities. In the last decade, we have expanded our program to (4) new locations, enabling thousands of kids to benefit mentally and physically from youth sports. 

Since 2013, LPF has donated over $14 million of sports equipment to 2,000+ schools and programs in the D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, Columbus, and Buffalo areas. Now, we need your support to help us keep growing our impact across the country. You can help us equip more kids to play the sports they love.
