Unified Champion School® Impact Stories
Central DeWitt Community Schools is a supporter of Special Olympics Unified Sports. Unified Sports are sports that are inclusive of students of ALL ABILITIES. Central DeWitt Intermediate and Middle School was recognized as a 2024 National Banner School for the work that their staff and students are doing to help all students feel welcome and accepted.
A Special Olympics Unified Champion School has an inclusive school climate and exudes a sense of collaboration, engagement and respect for all members of the student body and staff. A Unified Champion School receiving national banner recognition is one that has demonstrated commitment to inclusion by meeting 10 national standards of excellence. These standards were developed by a national panel of leaders from Special Olympics and the education community.

Congratulations! You have reached the BRRginning level and earned your Cool School Plunge shirt. If you go above and beyond this level, you will be able to earn more items.
You are committed to going above and beyond the $75 minimum! The Chilly Level qualifies you to redeem a towel or beanie.
By reaching the Frostbite level, you have now raised enough money to help two athletes compete year-round for free! You have also earned a chance to redeem a Polar Plunge crewneck sweatshirt.
Temps are dropping, and funds are rising! Reach this level, and you can redeem a duffle bag or Stanley mug.
You have reached the Arctic level! At this level you qualify for either a sherpa blanket or a cooler backpack.
