Save the Date! BYSO Day is April 23!
What is BYSO Day?
On April 23, 1961, (G)BYSO had the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall in New York, followed by a second concert one week later at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall. In honor of this momentous occasion, Governor John A. Volpe named April 23rd Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras Day in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which we now continue to celebrate as BYSO Day.
BYSO Day is now an annual celebration of spirit and support to serve as both a reminder of our historic past and an opportunity to champion the 500+ students we currently serve.
This year’s fundraising campaign will begin Sunday, April 13 at BYSO on Parade and continue through Wednesday, April 30. Save the date and be on the lookout for ways to support and participate!
