One Tree Grows Into
Livelihood Security
Giving our community adequate access to income and resources that meet basic needs (including adequate access to food, clean drinking water, health facilities, educational opportunities, housing, time for community participation and social integration). Farmers see trees as a safer bet than growing and selling annual crops that can be destroyed by pests, and require huge labour inputs.
Climate Change Mitigation
We are helping to plant 10,000+ trees as part of a coffee based agroforestry program to help mitigate the effects of climate change in the Himalayas. Agroforestry, the simultaneous cultivation of trees and agriculture crops, is proven to be the most effective agriculture practice for keeping carbon in the soil and regenerating land destroyed by decades of harmful farming practices.
Regenerative Reforestation
We are helping to reforest land that was previously deforested for agriculture. Agroforestry has the dual benefit of reforesting the land, while providing access to sustainable livelihoods through long term and secure sources of income. Coffee trees are shade trees, allowing farmers to plant upper canopy trees with the coffee, and reforest open terraces that were previously not used, or were used for annual crops.

About Our Agriculture Program:
Conscious Impact was founded in 2015 after Nepal was hit with a series of devastating earthquakes. We quickly discovered that rebuilding is more than just homes, and our agriculture program was created to rebuild the natural environment around us. In Takure, 99% of the community participates in agriculture. To connect with the community on a deeper level, we are rebuilding, regrowing, and regenerating through agriculture together. Conscious Impact is fundraising to continue our agriculture program in Takure, Nepal. Next year we will help plant 10,000 trees to support the farmers of Takure. These trees will guarantee that we can expand our program through community agriculture development, local reforestation, and climate change mitigation.
