Join the 2025 Braille Across America Challenge!

It is the fifth annual Braille Across America Challenge! How far will you go for braille? How many books will you help produce?

Thirty-five days, between March 17th, (NBP’s 98th birthday) and April 21st, (Boston Marathon Monday)! The longest challenge yet!

We are taking on the challenge once again—virtually crossing the country to support braille literacy! Help National Braille Press spread awareness of the importance of braille while raising vital funds to provide braille materials for blind children and adults.


Our 2025 Braille Across America team members will commit to run, walk, bike or roll the distance of a marathon, 26.2 miles in 35 days, or twice that distance, or three times, make your own challenge! More importantly, team members are committing to being Literacy Champions by raising a minimum of $500 to help fund the cost of 20 books, while advocating for more access to braille! As a team member, you will work together with other Literacy Champions to carry our braille baton over the course of thirty-five days across the country!


Whether you are participating solo or as part of a team, you will be making an impact while having fun. No matter where you are, you can be part of this movement—every dollar, step, mile, and ride bring us closer to our goal of ensuring greater access to braille.


All participants who raise a minimum of $1,000 will receive a Limited Edition NBP Braille Baseball Cap with braille on the brim which reads "NBP is Braille" and teams who raise $5,000 will have a braille book dedicated to them.


Important: All participants must attend the Zoom kickoff ceremony March 10th, to receive the official event T-shirt!
