Monthly Texter Testimonial

“Thank you for spending time texting me tonight, I know it was late. I had a hard day battling with borderline personality disorder and ptsd, the two things that take me out of reality the most. Talking to you helped to bring me back and remind me that no matter what, someone is always out there willing to give their time just to make sure you can wake up another day. I needed to let some thoughts out before they progressed to actions and I'm glad that I did. They helped me to see that I am caring and I am deserving of living another day. I know this job must be hard so I wanted to take a moment and put my heart into this message and tell you truly, thank you.”

A note from our CEO, Dena Trujillo, to our amazing Empathy Network community:

As we step into a new year, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your incredible and steadfast support. Because of you, every single month, we’re fostering mental health resilience and having life-changing conversations with texters who turn to us during their most vulnerable moments.

Your monthly contribution is so much more than a donation—it’s a commitment to hope, compassion, and action. It allows Crisis Text Line to sustain and grow our vital programming, ensuring that anyone, anywhere, can access the support they need, 24/7.

You are a driving force behind the way the world views and supports mental health, and together, we are breaking down barriers, one conversation at a time.

Thank you for being an integral part of this journey. Here's to a year filled with impact, resilience, and hope—all made possible by you.

With gratitude,

Dena

Doomscrolling and Your Mental Health

Doomscrolling can significantly impact mental health, sometimes referred to as ‘doom health,’ by intensifying feelings of anxiety and stress. Constant exposure to negative news may worsen depression, disrupt sleep patterns, and reduce focus. Doomscrolling has been linked to increased existential anxiety, a sense of dread from confronting life’s uncertainties. It’s crucial to recognize these effects and take steps to manage media consumption for better mental well-being.

Submit Your Mental Health Journey

As a valued member of our community, we want to invite you to share your personal experiences with mental health—whether it’s a journey you’ve been on, challenges you’ve faced, or how you’ve found strength in difficult times. Your story, no matter how big or small, has the power to inspire others. When others hear authentic experiences like yours, they are more likely to feel connected to our mission.

Your story/video, if selected, will be shared in one of our upcoming campaigns to help bring awareness to others and to show individuals who might be struggling out there that we all encounter mental health obstacles and they are not alone.

If you’d like to participate, please review the video brief here, which contains more detailed information about this opportunity as well as how to upload your video.
