Exodus Transitional Community Donation Page has raised $91,078 out of their goal of $20,000
Our Programs
General donations will cover the cost of food, clothing, and hygiene kits to anyone in need. We provide a hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner for all participants in all programs. In addition, if anyone is in need of clothing including coats or shoes, we will provide.
We have offices in both Newburgh, NY and Poughkeepsie, NY. Both sites provide reentry support, including workforce development, anger management, case management and support obtaining basic necessities, to individuals returning from jail/prison to Dutchess or Orange County. We also oversee the Dutchess County Reentry Task Force.
We offer ATI programming to anyone who identifies as male and is facing a felony or misdemeanor charge in Manhattan Courts. Participants engage in 4, 6 or 12 months of programming, including Transformative Mentoring groups, Civic Engagement and Leadership Development workshops, and workforce development opportunities. We provide winter and summer clothing, food and everyday needs.
Launched in April 2020, NYCRTF is a collective of public and private partners that works to ensure individuals returning to the borough of Manhattan from incarceration and who are on parole have access to the resources they need to succeed. We support participants through case management, cognitive-behavioral interventions and referrals to ensure wrap-around care.
Exodus began providing emergency housing at hotels in April 2020 in response to the COVID 19 pandemic for people who were without housing and being released from city or state correctional facilities. We operate 3 hotels (2 in Queens and 1 in Manhattan) with a current capacity of 450 residents. We are also in the process of launching transitional housing in 2021. We provide winter and summer clothing, food and other essential needs.
Exodus’ OASAS-licensed Wellness Center offers individual counseling and group sessions for adults (18+) who are experiencing addiction. The Center is built upon evidence-based best practices and 12-Step recovery principles that empower the people we serve. Participants engage in groups three times per week, as well as an individual counseling session.
The Center for Trauma Innovation (CTI) is a transformative hub established to serve communities who have experienced trauma and have traditionally lacked access to appropriate treatment and psychoeducation. Located in East Harlem, the CTI will design and test new approaches, and expand access to existing ones, to promote trauma healing across Northern Manhattan, with a particular focus on young adults (16-24), the LGBTQIA+ community, immigration populations, and adults with histories of justice involvement. The CTI will use evidence-based clinical and grassroots healing practices into holistic approaches to healing. Our goal is to help residents avoid succumbing to the cyclical violence that can perpetuate crime and incarceration.
Exodus has been providing workforce development training for nearly 20 years. Our two-week Walking through the Wilderness Workshop provides jobseekers with the soft-skills needed to obtain employment. We also offer hard-skills training through our wide-array of partners, including OSHA 30 and Site Safety Training (SST) certification.
Exodus offers 6 youth empowerment programs: Common Unity, ARCHES, Next STEPS, ARCHES Alumni, NeON Works, and the Women & Girls Project. Our programs often serve young people ages 14-24, and are trauma-informed. Groups occur twice per week, facilitated by trained Credible Messenger staff, and participants receive stipends for their engagement.
