For 10 years, Conscious Impact has served families across Takure and the Indrawati Gaunpaulika in Sindhupalchowk, Nepal. We began in 2025, in response to the April 25th earthquake by providing immediate support towards the reconstruction efforts. 

This earthquake destroyed every home in Takure except one, and we knew it would take years to rebuild.

Over our first 4 years, we made more than 200,000 Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEBs) to be used to build a primary school, 3 community centers, an orphanage and more than 100 homes. 

This support took thousands of hours of hard labor and hundreds of donations from amazing people (like you!) around the world. By the end of 2019, almost every family in the region had rebuilt their homes.

Now, as we near 10 years of operations in Nepal, we want to re-commit to our work in Takure and communities across this region.

Rather than rebuilding homes, we are now focused on providing agricultural support to farming families, the same families that 10 years ago we supported to rebuild. Farming remains one of the only ways to generate income and provide food for families here in the Himalayan mountains and our support has proven critical.

Through trainings, workshops and hands-on support, we are supporting the next generation of farmers to find new meaning and direction in the ancient practices of agriculture. Our areas of focus include coffee cultivation and processing, citrus tree distribution and management, mushroom cultivation and compost education.

Over the next 10 years, our goal is to support 1000+ farmers and their families across the Himalayas. That means 1000+ families earning more annual income from coffee, citrus and mushrooms. That means 50,000+ trees planted to support land regeneration and native ecosystems. And that means a brighter future for families living a traditional life here in the mountains.
