About the Campaign

Camp registrations and fees cover less than 70% of our annual operating costs — as a nonprofit organization, we must rely on donations to close the gap and ensure our programs remain affordable and accessible for all.
Your gift to our year-end campaign not only provides necessary resources to prepare for the upcoming camp season, but also directly supports expanded outreach and key initiatives such as:
- Serving more children and families by adding an additional week of Family Camp and expanding our outreach program by 10%.
- Providing free or low-cost access to the life-changing experience of camp for children from every district in Oakland through our Youth Camp partnership with Oakland’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Youth Development.
- Funding continued maintenance and improvements to our historic camp facility such as rebuilding and repairing tents and cabins and restoring activity areas such as our swimming hole and Tot Lot.
- Supporting diverse seasonal staff and strong programming that reflect the needs and interests of our camp community.
- Celebrating and honoring the history and impact of our first 100 years as we work to ensure OFRC’s sustainability for our next century!
