In Loving Memory of Laura J. Huffer

Eating Disorder Treatment Healing is Hard.

Getting Treatment Shouldn't Be.

Project HEAL is honored to have received generous support from

The James E. and Betty J. Huffer Foundation to break down systemic, financial, and healthcare barriers to eating disorder healing in memory of

Laura J. Huffer.

With the support of our community, Project HEAL can more effectively achieve our vision of a world where every person with an eating disorder has the resources and opportunities they need to heal.

We hope that you will give to this critical initiative

to help make our mission possible.

Laura's Story

As a young child, the room would brighten when Laura entered; flashing that megawatt smile and tossing her long blonde hair.  As she grew older that charm only intensified, but you soon realized Laura also possessed a keen intellect and quick wit. Accompanying that intellect was a drive for excellence in whatever she pursued. In the early years of her eating disorder she even managed to graduate with honors from Xavier University. Once she set her mind to something,

nothing could stand in her way!

Laura also had a kind heart and a desire to connect with people. She volunteered with many organizations through the years and actively participated in the philanthropic outreach of her family's foundation.

Although Laura suffered throughout her adult life with the burden of her eating disorder, she will always be remembered by her family and friends as that

shining star that could light up any room she entered.

Nothing that is loved is ever lost...
No one who has touched a heart can really pass away because some beauty lingers on in each memory of which they have been a part.
