Joy Riders has raised $8,199 out of their goal of $20,000
Do you remember the first time you rode a bike? The feeling of the sun on your back and the wind in your face? The freedom of being able to move forward? Some people with disabilities have never experienced this joy. For others, like our injured veterans, these sensations may be only a memory. However, Joy Riders plans to offer the opportunity for fun with our Duet Bike program, designed for one person with disabilities and one trained volunteer to ride together on the Great Allegheny Passage.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 from individuals like you. Two bikes with accessories cost $20,000; additional funds will be secured through foundations, corporations, and events. Your money will be well-spent. Known for durability, the Duet Bike comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame of the bike and wheelchair, and a two-year warranty on electronics, battery and charger.
