Help Feed Fortuna / Arenal

Northern Costa Rica Needs You

About the Campaign

One of Costa Rica’s most vibrant tourism destinations, the region surrounding iconic Arenal Volcano has been among the hardest hit by the suspension of tourism in the country due to COVID-19. The crisis sparked what is being called “Season Zero” because of the absence of guests, and families dependent on tourism lost all of their income. Many workers have been laid off while others have been furloughed.

Despite outstanding efforts by public and private entities alike, many families are struggling to put food on the table. We need the help of those from around the world who love this beautiful region and its hardworking people.

Adifort, the local social development agency, is working with the Arenal Chamber of Tourism to carry out a campaign to distribute food to those in need.

Costa Rica’s Northern Zone is known for its spectacular views, but those who have visited it understand that its people are what make this place so special. If the Arenal-Fortuna region holds a special place in your heart, join our effort to help our community survive this crisis as we look forward to the day we can welcome our friends back to this place we love.
