Nearly 20 percent of kids don't have the nourishment they need to learn, be well, and thrive. A healthy school meal program improves academic performance and generates more than two times its value to society. And consistent education—through engaging activities like growing food and learning how to cook—encourages kids to choose more nourishing foods on their own. Together, nourishing school meals and food education form two of the most critical areas of investment for child health outcomes.
