Stem Cell Healing Journey

From BUD/S to Baghdad, from Afghanistan to this current battle, I've never quit. But this time, I can't fight alone.

🎖️ My Call to Serve
I grew up a patriot wanting to serve my country in the most extreme way possible, so I enlisted in the Navy in 1995 to become a Navy SEAL. I attended Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL Training, starting with 220 trainees, and only 8 original trainees graduated.

⚔️ My Years of Combat
Prior to 9/11, I was assigned to SEAL Team Four and deployed to South America conducting counter narcotic missions. When 9/11 happened, I immediately screened for and was selected into a JSOC Special Missions Unit. Between 2002-2014, I was involved in some of our Nation's highest risk strategic missions, conducting over eleven combat deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, and other geopolitically sensitive locations.

🎖️ Service Recognition
My decorations include the Bronze Star with V device (four awards), Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal with V device (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal with V device (two awards), Combat Action Ribbons, Presidential Unit Citations (two awards) and other service awards.

🏥 The Toll of Service
Throughout this time my injuries accrued through various, high mechanism of injury accidents during military free-fall, combat operations, high speed assault craft in heavy seas, or in training. By 2014, after almost two decades of chronic stress and physical demands on my body, my back made me a liability on target. I saw limited relief through injections and back surgery, and was also diagnosed with Operator Syndrome. After 19 years of non-stop deployments, I took the first non-deployable training billet of my career.

My injuries include disc degeneration disease and herniated discs in cervical and lumbar, Disc Extrusion L3-4, Spinal Stenosis L4-5, seven traumatic brain injuries, thousands of sub-concussive events to the brain from explosive overpressure, broken ribs, a fractured radius bone, pneumothorax, complete ACL separation, complete distal biceps tendon separation, complete long head biceps tendon separation, torn meniscus, complete hamstring separation, ruptured spleen, neuropathy in right arm, frostbite, enlarged left heart ventricle due to decades of cardiovascular stress, sleep apnea due to concussions, and arthritis in multiple joints.

💪 My Current Reality
Although five orthopedic surgeries have helped patch me up, my back continued to deteriorate to the point where the pain is unbearable, quality sleep is nonexistent due to almost constantly shifting to relieve pressure points. While I have no regrets, the consequence of decades of injuries has resulted in a man who once could throw a 230 lb. downed man on his shoulders and run a quarter mile, to someone who can no longer stand at attention through the National Anthem without biting down from the pain.

Current assessments:
Pain level: 9/10
Physical Activity: 2/10
Quality of Life: 1/10

🌟 My Continued Service
As a civilian, I continue to serve by running a non-profit that supports bringing groundbreaking alternative therapies to treat PTSD and other mental health issues among our veterans and first responders. I live in Northern Nevada, where I raise my 16-year-old son.

🙏 My Hope
I am hopeful that stem cell treatment will relieve the pain in my back and neck. I dare to hope for a time I can wake up and not feel pain in my back, and perhaps go for a gentle run without having to stop and walk. Out of the myriad of injuries I have suffered through a career I am proud of, the back and neck are my greatest issues and resolving that pain would be nothing short of a miracle.

💫 The Help I Need
As a SEAL, I never left a fallen comrade behind. Now, as a single father, I'm humbly asking for your help to stand pain free again. The cost of this treatment is beyond my reach, but with your support, I can write the next chapter of my story — one of healing, hope, and renewed purpose.

I'm humbly and eternally grateful for any assistance you can provide.
