We turn your money into art. That means we give our artists whatever they need to get their ideas made. From sketch comedy to world premieres of new plays, hundreds of props can be found onstage at The Tank each year, and most of them end up in our office on Monday morning. For a gift of $20 we will TANK YOU publicly with a pic of one of our Tank artists with the most bizarre prop of the day.
What to Wear? $35
Although we do allow nudity at The Tank, most of our performers appear fully-clothed. Your contribution of $35 will pay for a costume element for one of our THIRTEEN coproductions this season. You'll receive a TANK YOU on social from one of our artists wearing one of the latest TANK creations declaring you a Tank Fashion Icon.
GET INSPIRED! $50
At The Tank, we make it possible for artists to create and share their work - when the inspiration strikes or the news breaks. We say YES to artists and their ideas because we know the only way to be a practicing artist is to have the opportunity to actually make your work and experiment. For a gift of $50, we'll send you a Tank colored pencil set to bring your own INSPIRATION to life and remind you we're always thinking of you.
Bright Idea! $100
Got any bright ideas? Our artists have thousands of them, and with our lighting, sound, and video inventories, they are bring those ideas to full realization. Your donation will purchase gels, lamps, and cable so our designers have the tools they need to create new worlds on stage! For a gift of $100-179 we'll send you a Tank journal so you can jot down your Bright Ideas and think about how much we love you.
Oh Shit! $180
With our 2,500 artists and 36,000 audience members, we go through a lot of paper goods- from paper for scripts and programs to, yes, toilet paper. Your monthly gift of $15 per month will keep our bathrooms stocked! For a gift of $180 we'll send you a Tank Tote to make your next TP run a little more eco-friendly!
I'm Ready for My Close Up! $250
The Tank would be nothing without the artists! (Seriously, if there were no performers, our theaters would be empty and there'd be no shows for you to enjoy!) At The Tank, we know being a working artist in NYC is tough. We keep the costs of making work low and are committed to paying our artists. Your gift of $250 will go straight into Artist Fees for the 2,500 artists we support. For a gift of $250 you'll get to enjoy that artistry first hand with tix and drinks for 2 to a show of your choosing!
Rehearsal Time! $500
The Tank gives out over 5,000 hours of FREE rehearsal space each year in a city where space usually runs $20 or more by the hour. Your gift of $500 will pay for TWENTY-FIVE HOURS of rehearsal space. Plus we'll throw a soiree in your honor with tix for six and drinks to a show of your choosing!
Rent Party! $1,000
We just celebrated our 2nd year in our home on 36th street, and our space has been a game-changer! With 2 theaters, we've doubled the opportunities we have to support artists- which means double the free rehearsal space and double the chances to see cutting-edge work on our stages! For a donation of $1,000 we'll throw you a party with free tickets for you and up to 12 of your friends to a production of your choice!
MAKE MUSIC! $3,000
The Tank continues to be a venue for experimental music in all genres as we have been for 17 years (and we still rock.) For a gift on $3000, you will Executive Produce our music season and receive crediting and exclusive invites (with tickets and drinks) to all of our music programming this year.
HIGH ROLLER! $4,000
For a gift of $4000 or above you will Executive Produce one of our mainstage productions. We will most likely send you a jar of our tears (hope this isn't too weird.) You'll receive Executive Producer credit on the show of your choosing, as well as premium tickets and drinks to all of our mainstage coproductions throughout the season.
About the Campaign
The Tank is the epicenter of new voices, new forms, and the next generation of performing artists in New York City. From theater to puppetry to dance to music to comedy to public affairs, The Tank offers 1,000 shows each year and serves over 36,000 audience members.
The Tank believes artists should be able to make and create without breaking the bank, without being silenced because the economic barriers are too high. And no one should be excluded from the theater because of ticket price.
Our mission is to keep the cost of making and experiencing new art low, but to do that, we need YOU.
Together, we can sustain The Tank as THE place to find and experience the work of emerging artists.
Your donation today will help artists create work NOW- at its most compelling, most relevant, most poignant - and sustain the audiences for this work by keeping ticket prices low.
