The A to Z Fund has raised $172,250 out of their goal of $200,000
WHY A TO Z?
The need for equity is clear. Fourteen schools, concentrated in Oakland’s wealthiest neighborhoods, raised more than $4 million in one school year. Meanwhile, 75 percent of Oakland students attended a school that raised less than $10,000 that same year.
We believe kids who come to school with less need more. The A to Z Fund does two big things for all Oakland public schools: gives our teachers extra training to become even better, and distributes money to school leaders to use for camping trips, music sports, and other underfunded opportunities from A to Z.
How does A to Z help Oakland schools?
When our teachers are learners, so are our kids. Your gift this winter will help launch new mini-grants teachers can use for training to expand their skills and become even better at their jobs.
A to Z Fund mini-grants help schools pay for music programs, instruments, and student performances so Oakland kids can tap into their inner Mozarts and Coltranes.
