About Tina's Ministry

Tina Boyles Bailey is a minister to the arts community, refugees, and immigrants in Europe. Based in Graz, Austria, she mentors artists and provides trauma-informed care for refugee and immigrant communities in group and individual settings. In addition, she trains other ministers on how to provide trauma-informed care.

Tina was appointed as a CBF field personnel along with her former husband Jonathan in 1995 to serve in Bali Indonesia, where she served for over 27 years before moving to Austria.  Tina is passionate about the intersection of art and spirituality. â€¯She believes the ability of an artist is God-given talent but also a discipline that can be developed.

Tina’s work and calling has been formed through work in trauma settings following natural and manmade disasters, in prisons mentoring inmates and journeying alongside one death row inmate who was eventually executed. Tina is a CBF Endorsed Chaplain and certified Trauma-Informed Expressive Arts Therapist. Through this, she works with people in non-threatening ways to create a life of balance. She has also mentored, cared for, and trained people as they travel on their spiritual journeys, including hosting and mentoring young adult interns.

Tina’s ministry combines Missions/Pastoral Counseling/Chaplaincy along with Trauma-Informed Expressive-Arts Therapy. It is a welcoming and safe place for people from many different walks of life. It is caring for the whole person—body, mind and soul. â€¯â€¯â€¯â€¯

Tina works in three primary ways:

  • Trainer:  Alongside the European Baptist Federation and The Austrian Baptist Union, Tina helps train groups from different cultures to care for those in crisis in a trauma-informed, culturally appropriate way.
  • Pastor/minister to Artists:  Tina joins with the International Baptist Theological Study Centre (IBTS) Arts and Mission group as a volunteer and pastor/minister to artists from around Europehelping build and develop appropriate ministries.
  • Pastoral Presence in community:  Tina connects locally in Austria with the local church to refugees/immigrants and people in the arts community. This includes engaging in pastoral ministry with the local leadership teamsuch as mentoring, preaching, refugee/immigrant ministry, as well as building healthy relationships in the â€¯local arts community
