Welcome to the Creative Commons Certificate!
The Certificate is a training program offering in-depth courses about CC licenses, open practices and the ethos of the Commons. The courses are composed of readings, quizzes, discussions, and practical exercises to develop learners’ open skills.
There are three Certificate course options: 1) the Certificate for Academic Librarians, 2) the Certificate for Educators and 3) the Certificate for Open Culture (galleries, libraries, archives and museums). Register for all courses here.

CC Certificate for Academic Librarians, June 2025
$500.00The course runs from June 2-August 10, 2025. The course is open to everyone, though it focuses on communities involved in academic librarianship. Certificate courses are run as asynchronous, online trainings, with options for synchronous discussions. The participant to facilitator ratio of approximately 25:1. Participants must receive a 90% or higher grade to graduate. Online course tuition is $500. Refund & Transfer Policy: Tuition is refundable in full up to 30 days before the course start date. After that date, the tuition is non-refundable. You may defer your course selection by emailing certificates@creativecommons.org at least 15 days before the course start date. If you contact certificates@creativecommons.org in less than 15 days before a course starts, we likely cannot accommodate this request.
CC Certificate for Educators, June 2025
