About AIDS Walk Ohio

AIDS Walk Ohio will take place in downtown Columbus on April 8, 2023. Participate in person at Genoa Park or virtually in your own neighborhood.


AIDS Walk Ohio is one of the largest opportunities for the public to give back in this capacity. Over 1,000 people from across the state will come together to raise critical funds for HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention programs. In just the past eight years, AIDS Walk Ohio has raised over $2 million for AIDS service organizations in Ohio, including Equitas Health, who produces the event and is the primary beneficiary. 


At Equitas Health, funds raised support HIV/AIDS medical care and treatment, HIV prevention (which includes PrEP), and a variety of other services like primary care, behavioral health counseling, and dental care—one of the most unmet needs of those living with HIV. AIDS Walk Ohio fundraising deadline is Friday, April 21 at noon. This will be the cutoff for fundraising commitments made at registration, leaderboard rankings, and prizes. Please have all donations in by this date and time.

AIDS Walk Ohio 2023 Host: Miss Vanjie!


Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, known the world over as simply “Miss Vanjie,” will host AIDS Walk Ohio 2023 in downtown Columbus on April 8.

The popular drag performer won millions of fans and unexpected meme fame when she sashayed away from season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race in the first round. She appeared again on season 11, placing fifth among the 14 contestants competing to be America’s next drag superstar. 

Now you can see Miss Vanjie in the flesh at AIDS Walk Ohio at Genoa Park in downtown Columbus. The vivacious Vanjie will bring her comedic charm and electric dance moves to the event’s opening ceremonies.
