BDF '24 Workshop
Rutkay Özpinar
Sunday, August 11: Rutkay Özpinar
Join Rutkay Özpinar in this 90 minute community dance workshop.
In this workshop choreographer Rutkay Özpinar will work with students on the method of his movement language. The different elements of modern dance, classical ballet and Turkish folk dance have blended into an authentic language and set a strong foundation within his choreographic work. During this guided improvisation he will delve into this technique, allowing the dancers to move with their own physical abilities and express their creativity. From working on undulations, articulations, and dynamics in movement, to letting the creativity of the mind take the lead as we dance, this workshop allows the human body to go on a journey of discovery. It doesn’t matter if you are a professional dancer or have never danced before; this workshop is for everyone, as there is an artist within each of us.
