ABOUT THE NON-PROFIT
The Skinny Gene Project, a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Scripps Ranch, partners with federal, state, and local health departments to prevent the epidemic of type 2 diabetes.
As San Diego's first accredited provider of the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP), an evidence-based program proven to delay or prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes by at least 58%, the Skinny Gene Project has transformed lives—one community at a time. What began in City Heights has now impacted lives in 397 zip codes, spanning over 1,000 square miles in Southern California. Despite this growth, more than 1 million San Diegans still lack access to these essential services.
