The Changing the Face of Addiction was a huge success!

For 50 years, the Center for Prevention & Counseling has supported individuals, strengthened families, and nurtured communities to prevent addiction and support recovery. 

The 10th Annual Changing the Face of Addiction Recovery walk is a powerful community gathering to remember lives lost to addiction, reduce the stigma that often prevents people from openly speaking about their struggles and asking for help, and celebrate those who have achieved long-term recovery. 


Funds raised through this event will be donated to the Center for Prevention & Counseling. Your support will:

• Provide youth, adults, and families with addiction counseling and recovery programs, services, and resources.

• Support our Sussex County Recovery Community Center - a place of community and connection for people seeking and thriving in recovery.

• Support school and community programs that empower kids to make healthy choices regarding underage use of alcohol, tobacco/vaping, marijuana, and other drugs. 

• Support community programs for seniors to encourage healthy aging and reducing risks for injuries and medical conditions requiring pain management medications. Educate seniors on how to speak with their medical provider and pharmacist to ask questions about prescribed medications and consider alternatives to opioid medications, when appropriate.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE


REGISTER TO WALK 

Click “GET STARTED” at the top of the page and choose your registration preference. You can register as an individual or family.
Individual $25 – (includes one walk event T-shirt while supplies last) 
Family $50 (up to 2 adults and 3 youth ages 5-17 years) – includes 2 walk T-shirts while supplies last


CREATE A FUNDRAISING PAGE

When you register to walk you will receive an email to start your fundraising page.


CREATE A WALK TEAM 

Create a team if you plan on recruiting your friends, family, coworkers, or group/school members to register to walk with you. Your teammates will have the option to create their own fundraising pages after registration.

Many teams are created in memory of a loved one, to share your personal recovery story, or as your family, business or organization to show your support for the cause. Walking together as a team is an activity that makes an impact and brings people closer together! 


JOIN A WALK TEAM 

If your family, school, business or group has already created a team, you'll have the option to join their team. Feel free to join any of the CFPC or Sussex County Recovery Community Center teams - we'd love to have you on our team!
