Honor the Fallen

This event is designed to honor America's fallen officers and will bring together survivors, friends, and members of the law enforcement community who are willing to take on the challenge of walking 25 miles in 2 days to raise funds for Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) who serve over 65,000 survivors affected by line-of-duty death.

Amount Raised To-Date

We're fundraising for C.O.P.S to honor the fallen and to help rebuild the shattered lives of the family members and co-workers of officers killed in the line of duty.

Additional Information

LODGING

  • Lodging: SpringHill Suites by Marriott Phoenix Goodyear - 1370 N Bullard Avenue, Goodyear, AZ 85338.  Overflow Hotel: Tru by Hilton Goodyear Pheonix West - 1430 N Bullard Avenue, Goodyear, AZ 85338.  Please note, your $1,000 Fundraising Goal covers a 2-night stay.  Walkers are welcome to come a day earlier and/or stay a date late.  However, this will be at the partipant's own expense.  If you do not request a roommate, you will be paired with another participant.

While we appreciate the desire for moral support, only the fundraising walkers are accommodated at the hotel.  If you plan to bring a family member, please contact the C.O.P.S. National Office to discuss your situation and additional costs.

MEALS

  • Meals: All meals from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch are provided for the walkers.  We will do our best to make accomodations for food allergies.  Any special dietary requests aside from allergies will need to be provided by participant.

TRAINING

  • Training: Our 25-miles journey will be challenging, even for those who are completely prepared.  Please take your training seriously, but don't be intimidated.  You can do this!  The more you train, the more energy you will have left to enjoy the experience.

COST & FUNDRAISING

  • Cost & Fundraising: There is not a registration fee to participate in COPS Walk events; however participants, whether walking as an individual, or as part of a team, must raise a minumum of $1,000 per person.  For instance, if you are on a team and your team has 5 members, $5,000 must be raised in total.  If you do not need lodging, you can raise a minumum of $750 per walker.
  • Your Expenses: Your own expenses will include travel to and from your home to the hotel (i.e. driving or flying expenses), hotel incidentals, and Sunday evening dinner (and Hotel) if you need to stay an additional night.
  • Donations: Let your potential donors know they can donate online through your COPS Walk Southwest page.  Just copy your personal fundraiser URL address that was created when you registered and attach it to your emails, or share it on social media outlets.  All checks you receive should be made payable to "C.O.P.S." and in the memo line noted "your name - CWHF 23" and mailed to: C.O.P.S. Attn - CWSW 24 - PO Box 3199, Camenton MO 65020
  • Offline Donations: It's a good idea to send in your offline donations (checks), with a pledge sheet at least once monthly.  Please do not send cash - convert it to a personal check or money order before mailing it in.  If you would like your donors to receive a thank you letter with a tax receipt, please include their complete name and address on the pledge sheet.

PRIZE MENU

  • $2,500 & Above: Individuals who raise $2,500+ will receive an engraved coin as a tribute to their outstanding support of C.O.P.S.
  • C.O.P.S. Awards: C.O.P.S. will give two special awards: the Top Individual Fundraiser will receive an award and the Top Fundraising Team will receive an award.

All donations must be received by Friday, January 12, 2024, to be considered for these awards.

TIPS FOR RAISING MONEY

  • Don't forget to ask everyone you meet to support you in your fundraising efforts!  Ask them for $10 or $20 - small amounts can make a difference!  Ask not only your co-workers, family, and friends, but your hairdresser or barber, your mail carrier, your kids' teachers, your clients, your baker, your favorite store owners, and others you interact with regularly.

VOLUNTEERING

  • To keep expenses down, we have to limit the hotel space to those walking.  In some circumstances, we can pair a volunteer with a participant in a hotel room; however, each circumstance is unique.  If you plan to volunteer at COPS Walk Southwest and need a hotel room, please contact the C.O.P.S. National Office immediately at (573) 346-4911, so we can work on a plan for your weekend stay.

Registration Deadline: Registration ends Friday, January 12, 2024.
