Celebrate Earth Week at Fort Greene Park! With over 10 family-friendly activities and sustainable swaps, there's something fun for everyone in the neighborhood. For those who participate in over 8 of the activity stations, there’ll be a FREE prize.

Clothes Mending Workshop led by Joy Mao. Joy will teach you how to repurpose worn-down clothing using scraps for patching, embroidering, and hand-sewing.
Plant Swap with donations from Tula House and Tend Greenpoint. Expand your houseplant collection at the plant swap by trading plants, plantlets, and cuttings to take home and grow.
Biodegradable Starch Project led by Walt Whitman Library. Create a collaborative sculpture from biodegradable materials!
Make Music! with recycled instruments led by Brooklyn Music School. Try your hand at playing recycled mugs and more!
Bandana Prints with the Urban Park Rangers. Stamp out your own designs on bandanas, with the rangers to guide you through this fun craft project.
Earth Day Mosaic led by UrbanGlass. Create a community mosaic that'll be put on display in Fort Greene Park following Earth Day!
Earth Day Community Planting led this year by Green Team members. Help them complete the planting stage of their Green Infrastructure project which will further promote the park’s biodiversity!
Seed Bombs Workshop led by members of the Green Team. Learn how to make seed bombs that can either be taken home or thrown in tree pits and empty lots across the city!
Earth Day Trivia with members of the Green Team. Test your environmental knowledge in a Jeopardy-style game packed with fun Earth Day facts!
Mulching with the Green Team! Learn about proper tree mulching with members of Grene Team
Herb Bundling with One Love Community Fridge. Create nutritional herb bundles and connect with others in a multigenerational and cultural space.
Book Giveaway with Brooklyn Book Bodega. In 1963, graphic designer Harvey Ball drew the bright yellow smiley face that became the ubiquitous symbol of positivity in pop culture, decor and emojis that it is today. Come add your own rendition of the Smiley Face to a collaborative artwork, and read about Harvey's story with the Brooklyn Book Bodega.
Leavings Project led by Nelson Santos. While exploring Fort Greene Park during Earth Day festivities, don’t forget to look up! Perhaps you’ll spy beautiful, twinkling leaves hiding in the trees.
iNaturalist Adventure with City Nature Challenge. Use the iNaturalist app to document and receive scientifically-approved information regarding different forms of wildlife and species found in Fort Greene Park!
Cumbe will offer a Afro-Cuban dance demo and dance lesson for all ages celebrating different dances connected to elements of nature.
