Event Information

Epilepsy Walk Los Angeles is a fun-filled community event – with a serious cause – that gives everyone an opportunity to share their story of epilepsy, learn more about epilepsy, and connect with others affected by epilepsy — all while raising funds.

Everyone is needed in this fight. By walking and sharing, you inspire others to do the same. As our numbers grow, even more people will take notice so we can raise even more funding for epilepsy care and research.

This will be an amazing one-of-a-kind experience – We invite you to walk with us in-person at the Rose Bowl or walk your way at home, whenever and wherever you'd like. Help us make a difference and better the lives of people with epilepsy and let’s End Epilepsy Together.

Information about the Walk is provided below. More information will be updated from now until the event. We will be sending emails to all registrants. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to contact us at 310.670.2870 or 800.564.0445 or Walk@EpilepsyLosAngeles.org.

About Epilepsy Foundation Los Angeles

efla logoThe Epilepsy Foundation Los Angeles is leading the fight to END EPILEPSY® TOGETHER and overcome challenges created by seizures by focusing on Care, Advocacy, Research and Education. Through these areas of focus, we offer a range of services and programs to help, support, advocate for, and empower those who are affected by epilepsy and their caregivers. We also support research to accelerate cures for the epilepsies, support the training and work of new pediatric epilepsy specialists, and also seek to educate the general public to better understand epilepsy/seizure disorders, and fight to END EPILEPSY.

Who We Serve

We serve individuals and families affected by epilepsy/seizure disorders. Our primary areas of service include the Counties of Los Angeles (10.14 million (3.1 million), San Bernardino (2.1 million) and Ventura (0.85 million). The estimated combined population of our territory is over 16 million. At least 1.2% of the population has epilepsy/seizure disorders. Thus, in the three Counties we serve, almost 160,000 people have epilepsy. However, many more are significantly impacted by epilepsy in their daily lives when you include family members, caregivers, and friends in the total.

What We Do

We are here for you, as we have been for more than 64 years. As your local Epilepsy Foundation, the Epilepsy Foundation Los Angeles is the only non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated solely to serving people affected by epilepsy in this entire region. Our tax ID is 85-4002671.

Frequently Asked Questions

Join in the day of fun by registering to participate in the event! You can register as a member of a team, start a team or even register as an individual with no team affiliation. Not able to join us onsite? Register online but participate virtually – gather your friends and family to walk wherever you are on April 28. Another way to get involved if you are unable to participate onsite or virtually is to make a donation! Donations may be made online at EpilepsyWalkLA.org or by mailing donations to the Epilepsy Foundation Los Angeles, 5777 W Century Boulevard, Suite 820, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
Register online at EpilepsyWalkLA.org. If you need assistance or have any questions, contact us.
Everyone (ages 2 and above) is asked to pay a registration fee of $25/per person.
This is a fundraiser supporting our programs and registration fee is considered a donation. We depend heavily on the fundraising efforts of our family, friends, and donors because we receive no federal or state funding. We are so appreciative of the efforts from our End Epilepsy community.
No. While we suggest each registrant set a personal goal of raising at least $100, you will not be required to pay if the goal is not met. However, we do encourage you reach for the stars and set a challenging fundraising goal.
Your transaction to the event - registration fee and/or donation crediting a participant/team - is considered a tax-deductible gift and receipts have been issued confirming your gift. We do not issue refunds.
Customize your online fundraising page – add an image to your profile picture, upload an photo to the body of your webpage (important if you want to share a specific image across social media), share your story and why you walk to End Epilepsy. Then, you can begin to grow your team and invite others to make donations supporting your efforts.
No, you are not required to join a team in order to participate in the Epilepsy Walk Los Angeles. However, we do encourage you to invite as many friends and family members to register for the event so you may all participate as a team. If you are thinking of participating with others but aren't sure you will reach ten members, we still urge you create a team regardless but try your hardest to reach and even surpass a goal to have 10 members on your team!
On the homepage, you can find Walk Tips & Tools for suggestions on how to approach donors, how to educate others about epilepsy & more! For every person you ask to sponsor you in the Epilepsy Walk Los Angeles, it means there is one more person aware of epilepsy! More awareness means more people will join our fight to End Epilepsy Together.
Encourage donors to support you by making their donations online at your team (or individual) page at EpilepsyWalkLA.org. Donors can easily locate your name or team by using the search feature located near the top of the homepage. Donations may also be collected and reported on the Pledge Sponsor Form. Donations and Pledge Sponsor Form can either be turned in the day of the event or mailed to the Epilepsy Foundation Los Angeles – Epilepsy Walk Los Angeles, 5777 W Century Boulevard, Ste 820, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
Please check out this Team Captain Toolkit (PDF) as it has many detailed tips and may answer any and all questions you might have about leading a team. The Epilepsy Foundation Los Angeles thanks you for taking on the role of Team Captain to rally and support members of your Team! We are grateful that you recognize the importance of people working together towards one collective goal. As a captain, you have the ability to make this as much as fun possible.
Team members are encouraged to support the team captain by solicit others to join the team and invite donations on behalf of the team.
There are several ways to promote your page and your team page. There are suggested email messages within the platform which you can easily copy, paste, and customize to anyone with an email address. Using the suggested email messages you can either invite people to donate to your page for the Epilepsy Walk Los Angeles or thank them for making a donation. Another great idea is to link your personal page or team page to your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn accounts!

Special Thanks to our Sponsors, Partners & Friends
