About the Event
For 40 years, Hunger Free America has been a fierce champion in the fight for economic, racial, and food justice. Our 2023 Spring Benefit will bring together Hunger Free America’s community of donors and partners, elected officials, and industry leaders to honor anti-hunger champions and celebrate our work.

About Our Honorees
Anna and Raj Asava founded HungerMitao (wipe out hunger) in 2017, with the goal to galvanize the Indian American community around helping fight food insecurity through local food banks. HungerMitao is a volunteer-driven grassroots movement focused on raising awareness about hunger in the USA, improving community engagement, as well as channeling resources and contributions of the Indian American community to fight hunger in America. Over the five years since its launch on September 29, 2017, the movement has enabled 50+ million meals through Feeding America and Food Banks in North Texas, Tarrant Area, Houston, New York City, Atlanta, Seattle and SE Michigan.
The Honorable Carolyn Maloney is a former representative for New York. In her tenure, Carolyn has been a fierce advocate for economic equality and active in women, children, and family issues, and has supported policies to end domestic hunger.
Perkins Coie is a leading international law firm that is known for providing high-value, strategic solutions and extraordinary client service on matters vital to their clients’ success. Perkins Coie has an extensive, successful community service program that supports and promotes community service activities for attorneys and staff, and have generously supported anti-hunger work through pro bono services across the country.

The View at Battery Park is nestled within the manicured gardens of Battery Park and is flanked by The Sea Glass Carousel and the Staten Island Ferry’s Whitehall Terminal. A waterfront property with two floors of commanding views of New York Harbor, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty, The View will feature outdoor waterside seating with a separate outdoor bar along with a beer garden featuring craft beers.
