Thunder Valley is excited to host the 2nd Annual Lakota Media Summit! After a successful inaugural summit in 2022, we will build momentum to shift the narratives of our communities by centering Indigenous voices. Our summit last year brought together a wide range of media professionals, journalists, storytellers and aspiring creators. We will build on that success and provide an even greater diversity of speakers, panels and screenings this year.

Recent years have seen a lot of public discussion of Indigenous representation, but Thunder Valley wants to go beyond representation and instead lead in the telling of our own stories. The Media Summit will bring together showrunners, storytellers, journalists, musicians, and more, showcasing the incredible diversity of the community, opening a dialogue for meaningful and mutual healing, and creating a space to build networks that will take action toward tangible change in their respective communities.

Transformative change will take a commitment from each of us - a commitment to collective action toward an enduring narrative shift for Indigenous communities.

We've raised $4K Our Goal $100,000

We're raising money to ensure the Lakota Media Summit for years to come!

We invite Indigenous community members and youths, and all those who are dedicated to active allyship to join Indigenous vision with collective action for enduring narrative shift.
