About the Event

Set against the backdrop of the historic Gateway District, OutFront Minnesota's annual gala brings together our strongest supporters to celebrate the many stories behind our movement—and to build the foundation for the work ahead. From underground to out and proud, Minnesota’s LGBTQ+ movement is shaping the national narrative on equal rights!

Our gala event offers numerous naming and sponsor recognition opportunities, unique guest experiences, and a party for 500+ guests celebrating the LGBTQ+ community that you will not want to miss!

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Eric Cervini is an award-winning author, producer, and historian of LGBTQ+ politics. His first book, The Deviant’s War: The Homosexual vs. the United States of America, was a NYT bestseller and a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. It also won the Publishing Triangle’s Randy Shilts Award for Gay Nonfiction, the NYT Editors’ Choice, and the “Best Read of 2020” at the Queerties.

Cervini is the creator and Executive Producer of The Book of Queer, a comedic and music-filled docuseries about queer history, premiering on Discovery+ in June 2022.

He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College and was a Gates Scholar at the University of Cambridge, where he received his PhD. As an authority on 1960s gay activism, Cervini serves on the Board of Advisors of the Mattachine Society of Washington, D.C., a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation of LGBTQ+ history.
