Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary will be holding its 18th Annual 5K Run for the Animals and 1-Mile Fun Walk on Sunday, May 16^th. All funds raised will go towards the lifesaving work Poplar Spring does every day. The funds will care and feed the farm animals that live at Poplar Spring, as well as educate the public about compassion towards all animals.

VIRTUAL RACE

Due to the coronavirus this year’s race will be a virtual run or walk. What this means is that rather than us all getting together on May 16th, we are encouraging everyone to complete a 5K run or a walk on your own or with the people you live with. While the race is officially the morning of May 16^th, we welcome you to complete the race anytime between May 14^th and May 21^st. We’d love to receive photos of your accomplishment to post on the Poplar Spring Facebook page. You can do the run/walk at a park, in your neighborhood, or in your house or apartment.

SUPPORTING THE SANCTUARY

This is the only event Poplar Spring has at this time of the year, and the funds that are raised are vital to continuing to help feed and care for all the rescued animals. Most of the animals at the sanctuary have come from situations of extreme cruelty and have taught us what it means to endure and to be forgiving. We are extremely grateful for your participation, and of any fundraising you are motivated to do. We will be awarding great, vegan prizes to the top fundraisers.

PRE-RACE WARM-UP

The week of the race there will be an online pre-race warm-up by Courage Karate for all the runner’s and walkers! Be sure to participate and get pumped for the 5k or 1 mile walk. 

COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL

Every registered participant will receive a commemorative medal made in the U.S.A. to proudly display their accomplishment and support for Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary!
