Since 1949, Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc.  has brought improved sight to Georgians who are uninsured or underinsured through education, detection, prevention and treatment.

We serve over 23,000 patients annually through our full-service optical clinic, mobile school clinics, statewide tele-optometry vision program and financial support for sight-saving surgical vision procedures.

As a not-for-profit organization, we are proud to be the one of the most comprehensive vision service providers in Georgia. Through strategic partnerships and mobilizing healthcare professionals, research and technology, we enable greater independence and increased quality of life for Georgians in financial need. WHY WE WALK:

• It is unacceptable that any Georgian is unable to access vision care.
• 52 Georgia Counties (30%) currently have little to no access to vision services. (Source: Emory Eye Center)
• 1.4M are uninsured or underinsured presently in Georgia.
• Average patient cost exam/glasses = $60/person vs. $300 retail.
• 408,000 low-income Georgians do not qualify for Medicaid in Georgia and make too little to get financial help buy private insurance at healthcare.gov.
