As you know, Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary is an organization close to my heart for all the hard work they do to rescue abused and neglected farmed animals.  These animals come from all sorts of horrible situations but are the lucky ones who get to live out their lives on this 400 acre sanctuary in peace with the best of care and love.  Volunteering every other Sunday for six years now and spending time with this incredible individuals is one of the highlights of my life.  I get to enjoy the loving cows, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys, duck as I clean stalls and pastures.  These animals are full of personality just like the dogs and cats with whom we share our homes.  

The photo is me and Scooter, who was rescued from going to slaughter. Despite his rough start in life, he is a super friendly boy who knows he will get lots of love and cuddles when he sees me.  He rolls over for belly rubs too!   I invite you to visit Poplar to meet these darling animals!
