On Nov. 2, 2017, My son, Hunter, suffered a severe Traumatic Brain Injury when his ATV collided with a deer. He was  airlifted to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, where they had to remove the right side of his skull to allow for swelling. He was put in a drug induced coma, had to fight through aspiration pneumonia, he was on a ventilator and later a trach, he also had a feeding tube. He remained in the NTICU for 2 weeks, he then went to a LTAC hospital in Golden Valley for 2 weeks, where he started to relearn how to sit, stand, walk and talk and breathe on his own again. He also started to remember some family members. The next stop was at St. Cloud hospital rehabilitation, where things really started coming together for him. He was able to come home after 2 weeks with supervision and continued out-patient therapy in Paynesville.  Three and half months after the accident, they were able to replace the right bone flap. Six and a half months after the accident he was able to go back to work doing construction. HE still suffers daily headaches, some short term memory loss & word retrieval issues. He will go to Courage Kenny this winter (during lay-off) to do some intensive therapy  to help regain some more of his life skills.

Thanks to the knowledge and skills of his amazing medical team, and many prayers,  Hunter is living life and doing GREAT!

If you would to support his team in raising funds and awareness for this life changing injury, please donate to team - WHAT IF

WHAT IF stands for many things, in our case the main one is.... WHAT IF you don't wear a helmet

Thank you!
