As many of you know, Kyle has been competing in Swimming, Bowling and Basketball for Special Olympics. He also participated in countless clinics, events and activities sponsored by Special Olympics NJ. We met many great people who were associated with Special Olympic NJ. 

We know many wonderful people who did the Polar Plunge in NJ. We attended a few Polar Plunge parties in Seaside Heights NJ. Last year's event was the highlight. The outfits being worn the day of the plunge were amazing! Lots of college students in footy PJs, people in super hero costumes and other outrageous costumes. Being with Kyle that day and seeing the swarms of people running into the water made me realize I needed to get involved and take the plunge. If Jake, Casey, the Old Bridge Robins folks, Dan, Nick, Val and countless others could take the plunge, so should I.

We relocated to Okemos Michigan so I could take advantage of a great opportunity with Jackson. Getting Kyle involved with Special Olympics Michigan was a priority, on my second day of work at Jackson, I was given the name of a Special Olympics Michigan contact. It was nice to find out Jackson has been a Special Olympics supporter and has a team in the Polar Plunge. Working in a company that supports causes you believe in makes it easier to come to work everyday.  

The big difference in the Polar Plunges in NJ and MI is that the NJ Plunge is into the Atlantic Ocean while in Lansing Michigan we plunge into a pool in the Outfield at Cooley Law School Stadium. Drastically different venues but with the same result, raising money for a great cause!
