Aloha Family and Friends!

As many of you know, Special Olympics has changed my life. Special Olympics accepted me just the way I am & offered me a chance to learn I could do so much more than anyone expected. This Plunge is my way of saying Thank You & I hope to pay it forward.  

The Paradise Plunge replaces Special Olympics Hawaii’s annual Polar Plunge fundraiser, which was postponed due to the pandemic.  The Paradise Plunge will take advantage of our island’s beauty and celebrate the opportunity to go outdoors.  Plungers will be planning a day at the beach for a dip in the ocean or to enjoy their favorite watersport.  Some may even take the plunge in a pool. Either way, we will be taking the Paradise Plunge in support of our local Special Olympics athletes and capturing our plunge by video or photos to share with you.  

Special Olympics Hawaii athletes already overcome challenges on a daily basis.  The pandemic increased those challenges once practices, competitions and programs were cancelled, which isolated them even further and took away a very important part of their lives.

We’ve decided to challenge ourselves and make a commitment to raising as much as we can for the 3,400 children and adults in Hawaii with intellectual disabilities who participate in Special Olympics.  The more funding we can raise, the more we can help to ensure that our local athletes will be able to continue to participate in the current virtual programs Special Olympics has to offer and to return to the playing fields when the time is right.
