In May of 2021, someone reached out to me on Twitter. 

I had been talking about my experiences with recently figuring out that I was ADHD and Autistic. Then I got a message asking me if I would be interested in sharing my story.

I agreed, and I was a guest on the Lobow's Spark podcast.

I was astonished at what Lobow had accomplished in a few short months. He was pushing out episodes, trying to help people with ADHD understand that they were not only not alone, but they were badasses, just waiting to be unleashed.

During our episode, and in conversations throughout the next few months, I realized what was driving him forward. He lost his wife's best friend Lauren to suicide. Refusing to let one death cause two, he helped her husband rebuild his life.

Accomplishing that, he was determined to help those with mental health issues see that they were not broken, they were different. And the world isn't great at letting us be different, so sometimes we need a push to realize how great we can be. Lobow is determined to be that push, and he's been a force in bringing us together and unleashing our talents.

Over the months, the podcast has grown. For 2022, our goal is to expand our efforts. There will be more stories shared, a community built, and connections made. 

This fundraiser is part of that. We can't help those who are in crisis. We're not experts. We are just a group of people sharing our stories so that people realize they aren't alone. But groups like Crisis Text Line Support can help those who need it the most. When people are struggling the most, these groups can get them through the darkest parts. Then maybe, they will be able to discover these stories, this community, or others like it. 

Lobow has shared his story with us and his hope that there can be a brighter future for people like Lauren. Help us keep Lauren's memory alive by helping others who are struggling.

Everybody has a story to tell. And even if they don't realize it, their story will help others along their journies. Their story is something for someone.
