Never Underestimate a Grandma on a Bicycle
Never Underestimate a Grandma on a Bicycle
I rode Break the Cycle 200 for the first time in 2019, and to say that ride changed my life is an understatement. That first ride simultaneously broke my heart to learn of the horrors of human trafficking, and gave me a confidence in myself and my ability to make a difference unlike anything I’d ever experienced before.
I've gone on to compete in ultra-cycling events around the country (even winning a few!) People seem to enjoy that fact that a Grandma of 4 rides her bike a really long ways and are curious why. Which gives me a great opportunity to share how my I can use my passion for cycling to fight Human Trafficking.
On June 23, 2023 I will be riding Break the Cycle 200 for the 5th time and would love your support!
Here are some sobering facts:
-Human trafficking is one of the largest criminal industries in the world.
-It is a $150 billion industry and growing annually.
-There are currently an estimated 40.3 million people enslaved around the globe.
-71% of these 40.3 million victims are women and girls.
-1 in every 4 victims of modern slavery globally is a child.
This list, unfortunately, goes on, but that's why we need to come together to put a stop to it now! I promise to do my part, to train, to ride, to sacrifice my time and energy to raise awareness and money. Will you help me by making a donation? No gift is too small, and every dollar raised goes directly to ending modern day slavery.
All donations are tax detuctible and a receipt will be e-mailed to you immediately following your donation.
Thank you!
