Thanks for visiting my Doggy Dash fundraising page!
I have been an SSPCA volunteer since 2015 and the longer I am here, the more I respect and admire the organization. I joined because I love animals and wanted to help but I really did not know all the SSPCA did.
When you hear the word “shelter” what do most people envision? The common picture is animals in kennels that are waiting for a home. A safe haven while they transition from the streets or a previous home to another FURever home. While caring and finding a new home is part of that the SSPCA does it is NOT the main part of what they do. I am sure you get their emails and know the numbers. They do thousands of spray and neuter surgeries to help reduce overpopulation. Click below to see what they accomplished in 2022 with your help.
What often gets overlooked is the time and effort that they make to keep people and their pets together. Most of our animals come to the SSPCA via owner/guarding surrender. The main reason people surrender their pets is moving. The next biggest reason is the age/health of the pet. Many of the older dogs are dropped off because the person cannot afford the medical care for the animal. The SSPCA strives to keep the pet(s) with their owner by offering low cost vaccinations and health care.
We want people to keep their pets. In order to do so, we need help from people like you. NO ONE LIKES ASKING FOR MONEY and there are many worthy causes you can support. Like a broken record, I again ask for your support for this great organization. They do a lot of great work to make people’ and animals’ lives better. We only rely on grants and donations from people like you so every dollar that you can spare is much appreciated.
This little girl is now called Ruthie. I found her and daughter(?) February 3, 2022. She is only alive today (her daughter did not make it) because of the SSPCA. They were abandoned and in trouble. It was later determined that they ingested rat poising. Whether before or after they were abandoned we can't say for sure. That's Kenn's foot (our CEO) who helped care for her through her recovery. She is now living with a friend and rules the house. THANK YOU KENN and the SSPCA!
Please help me support the Sacramento SPCA by making a donation through my page. The process is fast, easy and secure. Thanks so much for your support... and please don't forget to send this page to any friends you think might be interested in donating!
