I will be volunteering in Nepal from March 18-April 22 2023. Please support Conscious Impact's Water Project!
Water is life! In 2022 Conscious Impact dug 22 kilometers of trench to lay water pipes for 100+ local families. Our organization worked with volunteers and locals to take turns digging so that we could pipe water to the homes of villagers in Takure, Sindhupalchowk, Nepal for the first time ever!
Last year's water project was so successful, we are doing it again!
This year I will be volunteering in Nepal to support another water project in a different part of the village. Please donate! Our budget for the materials, local water technicians and transportation costs of moving all the pipes up to the village comes from this fundraiser.
Each donation supports Nepali families to access water
$50 brings clean water to 1 person
$200 brings clean water to 1 family
$300 buys one truckload of sand
$1000 brings clean water to 5 homes
$2000 brings clean water to 50 people
Thank you for your support!
Water for 400+ people!
The community and local government have requested our support to build a new drinking water system for 80+ homes. The project will include purchasing and protecting a new water source, allowing the community to have secure access to water year round.
This project will additionally establish efficient and secure distribution of water to each of the 82 households, including more than 400 individuals. This project will be completed in collaboration with the local municipality, a great step in building long-lasting partnerships in the region.
The community has formed committees to manage project design, material procurement, labor and maintenance. This project will be led by our engineer, Krishna Adhikari, who has nearly 20 years of experience building water systems in rural Nepal.
Krishna Adhikari has worked all over rural Nepal for the benefit of others. He trains locals in the importance of water system maintenance and inspires people to have pride in the sweat equity they offer to the project. Namaste and thank you Krishna for everything you have done for your country and for supporting Conscious Impact!
Who does this project support?
The community of Bimire is home to more than 120 households of Rana Magar, Acharya, and Dahal families. This multi-ethnic and diverse area is known for organic agricultural production, and has generations of experience working hard to support each other. The community is further from the main road, which is one reason why the average household income is less than other nearby communities. Conscious Impact is inspired to support this diverse and hard-working community to finally have water taps in their homes.
Our last community project in Bimire was the Siddhartha Primary School we rebuilt in 2016 following the earthquake (our first project!), and we are so excited to once again partner with these community members for a drinking water project that will provide 82 households with safe and secure water access.
The Bimire Water Project in 2023 means so much to Conscious Impact. It allows our organization to:
- Include more families in a larger network of projects that prioritize water security
- Collaborate with local municipal government leaders for the greater good of local villages
- Inspire, train and support locals as agents of positive change in their community
- Connect people to their water source and dramatically reduce time spent collecting water
- Improve water quality
- Monitor water quantity
- Deepen our relationships and commitments to this area of Nepal sine the 2015 earthquakes.
Please join me in fundraising for the Bimire Water Project in Nepal.
