Hi all! This fall I will be running the New York Marathon in honor of my friend Milo Kessler, who passed away from bone cancer in March of 2022. Milo was the most kindhearted, curious, truly hilarious being who had the rare skill of being able to connect with people of all ages. We spent every summer together in Nantucket where we spent our days at the beach (Milo was always more of a fan of the beach games and talks than the water), our afternoons walking in town for pizza at Steamboat and ice cream at the Juice Bar, and our evenings playing the name game on the couch with our families. During the year he lived right near Prospect Park, one of his favorite places in the world and where he could be spotted playing baseball on weekends, and I was in Manhattan. What drew me to running this race in his honor was the ability to pass through both of our neighborhoods, remembering him every step of the way. He was truly the best to come out of Brooklyn.
