My mother, Laurel Zogby, passed away on October 30, 2019, ending a years-long battle with dementia. Through it all, she displayed an incredible strength and courage that still inspires me each and every day.  With the help of my father, Kamil Zogby, she tried her best to live each day to the fullest, enjoying life, her family and her friends.  I never once heard her complain about the hand she had been dealt, never saw her feeling sorry for herself even as dementia slowly took away a little piece of her day after day.   

After my mom passed, I wanted to do something in her honor.  I had intended to run the 2020 Boilermaker to help raise money for the Dementia Society of America, one of the leading, volunteer-driven organizations providing resources and support to families and caregivers, but the pandemic ended that plan.  

This year is the first year since my mom’s passing that I will have a chance to run the Boilermaker so the race this July 9th is dedicated to my mom.  To my friends and family, please help me support Dementia Society of America by making a donation through my page.
