I've been so lucky in my life to meet and work with writers, artists, and creatives of all types. So it's important to me to give kids the same access to these fascinating individuals through Behind The Book. Please support my fundraiser to bring an all-star author to an New York City Title I public school in 2024.

I don't know who I would be today without my love of books. That joy of reading opened the world for me as a child, and I'm grateful for the knowledge, the insight, and the imagination that those stories and authors gave me.

Behind the Book is committed to cultivating a love for reading and writing in NYC students, empowering children to become lifelong learners who are passionate about acquiring knowledge. Their programs provide diverse and culturally relevant books, author visits, and interactive, multidisciplinary learning experiences that make a profound impact on young people. 

This year, due to the budget constraints faced by our schools, they are offering all programs to Title 1 schools FREE of charge.
