Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
Hi friends and family,
I am so proud to be continuing my work at Equitas Health in rural Southeast Ohio. I have continued to focus on outreach/education, testing, and prevention efforts. The prevention team has established and continued many partnerships (Campus Care at Ohio University, Harm Reduction Clinic at Athens City County Health Department, Heritage Community Clinic) this year with new partnerships always on the horizon. We are truly increasing assess to these critical services in areas that are historically underserved.
After over eight years in this field, I still love educating people about HIV. I cherish the light bulb moments when folks learn about U=U for the first time or when I see the awe in someone's eyes as they reflect on how far we've come in this fight. I ask you to please continue this fight with me.
Our clients at Equitas Health in Athens, Ohio and the surrounding counties are resourceful and experts on their own experience. However, in rural areas, there are a unique set of challenges in accessing basic health care, particularly care that is affirming and comprehensive. Please join me in eliminating barriers to care and ensuring that our clients have access to all that they need and more! Thank you so much for your support. It means so much to me! For more information about how far HIV treatment and care has come and information about Equitas Health, please read below!
I want to be part of the era that stops HIV once and for all. That’s why I have accepted the challenge to participate in AIDS Walk Ohio 2024. Join me by making a tax-deductible contribution in support of our AIDS Walk Ohio fundraising goal.
Together our contributions will support Equitas Health’s critical medical, dental, counseling, case management, and support services to those living with HIV, and through public awareness, testing, and treatment render the virus untransmittable across our state.
Here’s why your donation—whatever amount you can give—matters:
- 15% of Ohioans don’t know their HIV status. Routine, stigma-free testing is the first step to halting further transmissions.
- Treatment is prevention! Nearly 90% of people living with HIV who receive treatment or case management services at Equitas Health have achieved viral suppression and cannot transmit the virus to sexual partners.
- Affirming care is at the heart of healing. Equitas Health medical, dental, counseling, and support services are specially designed to serve the needs of people living with HIV and the LGBTQ+ community.
- We deserve access to and awareness of ALL methods of prevention. Equitas Health’s prevention team is working in communities across Ohio to connect people to PrEP treatment and programs that pay for it.
Your contribution to AIDS Walk Ohio 2024 would mean a lot to me and to those living with HIV in Ohio. You can click on the "Donate" button above to make a donation.
Thank you for supporting a cause that matters so much to me. Together we can make this the last era of HIV.
