This is my second time doing Run Across Georgia. I loved that it was a race with a cause, and a challenge I had never encountered before. 

The first time I did it, I had no idea what I was getting into. I ran it with a very dear friend of mine who was moving away, and it was like our "last hurrah" before she left. It was an amazing experience, and I had no idea how much of an impact the race had on surrounding communities, not just in Columbus, but  through all the towns and cities along the way.

This was also the one race my dad was able to come to and see me finish, and being able to see his reaction when I crossed the finish line with the team is a memory I will never forget. Since his passing, I have made it a point to do this race as many times as I can - for the communities, the organizations we're raising money for, and for him.
