Thank you for supporting the 2024 Berskshire Ride for ALS!
THANK YOU for visiting my fundraising page! We are excited to be together again for the trek through the beautiful Berkshires, creating lasting memories and helping those whose lives have been impacted by ALS. Every mile pedaled, and every dollar raised helps us make a difference! Whether you're joining a team or supporting us with a donation, THANK YOU for helping us make a tremendous impact!
ALS is a progressive neurologic disease that is currently fatal. The average lifespan after onset of symptoms is just 2 to 5 very difficult years. ALS typically starts with muscle weakness and one by one, muscles deteriorate, often leaving the patient "locked-in" with only the use of their muscle function in their eyes. ALS, often referred to as a "rare disease", can strike anyone and does so every 90 minutes. ALS ONE is a Boston-based organization that has united the leaders in ALS research and care to join forces to combat the disease more effectvely and efficiently - both by expediting the advancement of critical research, as well as providing essential equipment to individuals living with ALS now - items such as lifts, ramps and wheelchairs that are often not covered by insurance.
ALS ONE's team, which you'll be helping to fund, includes Dr.'s Merit Cudkowicz, MD, MSc, James Berry, MD, MPH, and Sabrina Paganoni, MD, PhD, or The Healey Center for ALS at MGH, Dr. Robert Brown, Jr, MD, DPhil, or UMass Medical School, Dr. Fernando Vieira, MD of ALS TDI, and Ron Hoffman and his team at Compassionate Care ALS.
Your support would mean the world to us and to all who are working to end ALS.
