Fort Greene Park has always been a cherished space for our community.  Many of us go there every morning with our pups to enjoy off leash time, get some exercise and soak in the beauty of nature. Others come later in the day for playgroup time, a playgroup or just to sit on a bench and enjoy lunch.

To ensure it remains a vibrant and welcoming haven for everyone, the Fort Greene Park Conservancy is hosting THE FLING at Fort Greene Park, an evening of fun, performances, and community spirit.

The evening will include a celebration of the 2024 Community Heroes, a poetry reading from Cyrus Aaron and musical entertainment from the Brooklyn Music School Faculty Jazz Band.  DJay Jung, the official DJ of the Brooklyn Nets and the NY Yankees, will close out the festivities with tunes for dancing on the plaza.

Tim and I thought it would be fun to organize a table or two.  Each table for 8 people is $1000.  Reserve a seat at a table or make a donation here.  If you want a seat at a table please add your attendee names and contact info in the Comment Section at checkout.

Complimentary beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available to all attendees throughout the cocktail hour, and dessert will be available after dinner.  In keeping with the spirit of the event, guests are encouraged to purchase a picnic box prepared by a partner restaurant, or we can bring our own potluck style dinner.  We can probably do a bit of both!  Food partners are BK Jerk Mobile and Miss Ada:

Seafood Meal by BK Jerk Mobile ($35):
Grilled chimichurri salmon with mango salsa, roasted potatoes, and veggies.
Veggie Meal by BK Jerk Mobile ($25):
Coconut-curry chickpeas over white rice with a side salad.
Chicken Meal by Miss Ada ($30):
Chicken shawarma with hummus, vegetables, and pita bread.
