I am participating in Cancer Patient Services' 3rd Annual Flock Walk! The walk / 5K will take place on September 14th at the University of Findlay. I am fundraising to support LOCAL cancer patients! 

Cancer Patient Services is a unique 501c3 nonprofit located in Findlay, Ohio. CPS offers wrap-around services to cancer patients and their families who live or work in Hancock County.

Cancer Patient Services supports people like Joyce. Joyce is a 35-year-old, single mom, recently divorced who just found out she has leukemia. Joyce has two children ages 4 and 13. Her finances were already strained due to her separation.  But she had to take medical leave from her job due to her diagnosis.  So she had no income coming in, making money very tight. Joyce came to CPS for assistance with her new life-altering diagnosis. During her intake, several times she said that she wasn’t going to get upset.  She was used to working, taking care of her children and just getting stuff done.  After hearing about all the resources CPS has to offer Joyce began to cry. She now feels supported that she can receive financial reimbursement for her medical bills and mileage. Her children can see a therapist to deal with their mom's diagnosis. A patient navigator will call the insurance company and make sure all her bills are in order. She doesn't have to worry about how she will feel when she loses her hair because CPS has beautiful wigs. She can take an hour to herself by participating in a relaxing reiki massage. Joyce left the CPS office relieved and supported. This was not a battle that she would face alone.
