I learned to sail in 2011 through TASCA (The American Small Craft Association) on Meadow Lake in Corona Park. It's an amazing volunteer organization, with low cost classes, teaching anyone from young adults to retirees. The organization has allowed me to sail not only on the lake, but on the Long Island Sound on the group's keel boat, and on overnight charters in Tampa Bay and Chesapeake Bay. If you are looking to learn to sail or for a sailing family in New York City, I highly recommend them. I've also been fortunate enough to sail on the Hudson with our Skipper Vicki, and on a Force 5 on Long Island.
