Nilou Henderson is honored to be participating as a star in this season’s Dancing with the Stars Charlotte. An Iranian-American immigrant, she is a devoted wife and the proud mother of three beautiful daughters: Roya, Zara, and Yasi. Nilou is raising her family while running three businesses in Charlotte, a city she is proud to call home.

As a domestic violence survivor and a passionate advocate for mental health, Nilou is deeply committed to supporting and empowering women. This cause is personal to her. As a mother of three girls, she finds it essential to lead by example, teaching them the importance of community, the value of giving back, and the power of supporting organizations that truly make a difference. Dancing with the Stars holds special meaning for Nilou, as it allows her to combine her love for dance—something she cultivated during her time as a HoneyBee for the NBA Hornets—with raising awareness for breast cancer and children’s and teen mental health.

For Nilou, this journey is about more than just dance. It’s about bringing attention to and raising critical funds for nonprofit organizations that are making a profound impact in the community.
