Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

In October 2025, I’ll be running the Chicago Marathon with a fundraising goal of $2,500 for the Chicago Diabetes Project.

This cause is deeply personal to me. Three months ago, my younger sister Allie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The diagnosis was sudden and has been a significant adjustment for all of us. Together, we’re navigating this journey—learning how to better support her daily needs while striving to understand T1D and its impact on others worldwide.

Allie’s Story
Allie has always been a vibrant, active woman. After running a half marathon and maintaining an athletic lifestyle for 22 years, she faced her second hip labrum tear and was preparing for surgery. Routine pre-surgery bloodwork revealed a glucose level of 431—far above the normal range of 80-120 for her age. The news was shocking, especially since she had been asymptomatic her entire life.

Since her diagnosis, Allie has faced the challenge of adapting to a new lifestyle, which includes taking insulin 3-4 times a day and following a low-carb, sugar-free diet. Her progress has been remarkable: in just three months, she has reduced her A1C from 13.1 to 6.7. Beyond managing her health, Allie is committed to learning about T1D through research, determined to support herself and others navigating this disease.

Why I’m Running
Inspired by Allie’s resilience, my best friend and I decided to run the Chicago Marathon in 2025 to raise funds for the Chicago Diabetes Project. After completing my first marathon in 2024, I knew immediately which cause I wanted to support. Joining their team was a natural choice.

About the Chicago Diabetes Project
The Chicago Diabetes Project is dedicated to finding a cure for T1D. Their team of world-class scientists works to develop innovative solutions, including transporting insulin-producing islet cells into patients. This approach has the potential to reduce the need for insulin injections, making diabetes management more affordable and accessible. With millions of Americans affected by T1D, supporting this research is a step toward a better quality of life for many.

How You Can Help
I would be incredibly grateful for your support in reaching my $2,500 goal. Donations can be made quickly, securely, and easily through my fundraising page. Please consider sharing this link with others who might be interested in contributing.

This journey is about more than just running 26.2 miles—it’s about raising awareness and making a tangible impact in the fight against T1D. Thank you for taking the time to read Allie’s story and my “why.” Your generosity and encouragement mean the world to me as I prepare for race day on October 12, 2025.

Together, we can make a difference!
