Yes, I'm doing ANOTHER Half! But this time....
I'm running the 2025 United NYC Half Marathon with Housing Works, a kickass organization that has worked to end the homelessness and HIV/AIDS crisis in New York City since 1990.
I am THRILLED to support Housing Works and shred this iconic course this Spring as a farewell to this beautiful and brutal city that has been my home for the past eight years.
A little about Housing Works, if y'all don't already know:
Through relentless advocacy and by harnessing the collective power of our broad community, Housing Works carries out impactful, non-violent direct actions from phone campaigns to civil disobedience, in order to achieve the organization’s goals at the local, state and federal levels.
Housing Works also has created a network of community-based healthcare providers to meet people where they're at and support access to routing care, including:
- Primary care
- Behavioral and substance use services
- Youth and prevention services
- Adult day care
- Case management
If that's not comprehensive enough, Housing Works also provides:
- Harm reduction programs
- Assistance to access safe, affordable housing
- Legal services
- Justice initiatives for individuals involved in the criminal legal system to promote successful reintegration and stronger, safer communities
- Ready for Work (RFW) initiative designed to prepare people living with chronic illness for careers, and to empower them with job readiness and life skills.
Please join me in supporting this incredible organization that does SO MUCH for our neighbors and communities.
With the incoming administration this January, we remember more than ever that
WE TAKE CARE OF US.
NO ONE IS HOUSED UNTIL WE ARE ALL HOUSED.
NO ONE IS HEALED UNTIL WE ARE ALL HEALED.
Thank you for your support!
Miles in solidarity,
Liam
